Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken is a perfect blend of crunch and flavor. Juicy, golden-fried chicken is coated in a rich honey garlic sauce that’s sweet, savory, and slightly tangy. Ingredients
  

For the Chicken:

  • 1 lb 450g boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Crispy Coating:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • Oil for frying vegetable, canola, or peanut oil

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water optional, for thickening

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Chicken: Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Coat the Chicken: Dredge the chicken in a mixture of flour and cornstarch, dip into beaten eggs, and coat again in the dry mixture for extra crispiness.

Fry the Chicken:

  • Deep Fry: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry in small batches until golden brown and crispy.
  • Air Fry: Spray with oil and cook at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Pan Fry: Use medium heat and cook until crispy on all sides.
  • Make the Sauce: In a pan, melt butter and sauté garlic. Add honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  • Coat the Chicken: Toss the crispy chicken in the sauce just before serving.
  • Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped scallions. Enjoy with rice, noodles, or stir-fried vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra crispy chicken, use a 2:1 ratio of flour to cornstarch in the coating.
  • To keep the chicken crispy, coat it in the sauce just before serving.
  • You can make the sauce in advance and store it separately for meal prep.
  • Use gluten-free flour and tamari for a gluten-free version.
